What is a photoshop brush?
Photoshop brushes are tools used to create and/or enhance an image. Brushes are like those little rubber stamps we all use to play with. You'd dip it in the ink and stamp some happy clown on your friends hand to make them feel special. Only, with Photoshop brushes, you don't need any ink.. or any friends.
Brushes are used in a variety of ways. What you can do with a brush depends on what you're going for really. You can use simple shaped brushes to create new ideas and patterns in your image, or you can use brushes that have a specific shape/picture already in tact.

Accepted File Formats
Photoshop has it's own little set of file types that it accepts for brushes. Brushe files can contain 1 single brush or it can be a set of several brushes together. All photoshop brushes must be .ABR files in order to work properly. These .ABR brush files must be placed in to the appropriate photoshop brush folder BEFORE loading photoshop in order to appear in your preloaded brush list.
